Dr. Keith Sklar

D.P.M., F.A.C.F.A.S.

IMG_6994What makes me UNIQUE? I don’t compromise beauty to correct the function of your feet. My surgical procedures allow for less pain, a quicker recovery and results that you want to see.

I also apply what I learn. Having been in practice since 1985, I have treated over 65,000 patients and performed more than 11,000 surgical procedures. With all this experience, my procedures are continually modified; thus evolving into sound, minimally invasive surgical procedures.

By studying and working hard, I became board certified by two distinct boards. I continue to maintain these certifications through retesting. I am board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. I am also a Fellow of The American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine and a Fellow of The American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.

When not treating patients, I have a great wife who I love spending time with. Married for over 30 years, we have three wonderful daughters. One daughter is a Podiatrist while our other two daughters are both nurses. I also like working out to P90x, playing basketball, and rock climbing.  Did I also mention I have a pretty cool Tibetan Terrier named Eli.  We like going for walks and running together.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and I’ll be more than happy to discuss them with you.

Dr. Nicholas Ruckman

IMG_6996Dr. Ruckman has been practicing Podiatry since 2003. His decision to pursue a career in podiatric medicine stemmed from his desire to keep people active and on their feet. As an avid sports fan and former college baseball player himself, Dr. Ruckman understands the importance of good foot health for athletes and active people alike.

In 2001, Dr. Ruckman graduated magna cum laude from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. He completed his surgical residency at St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. Prior to attending Scholl College, Dr. Ruckman graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Bio Medical Sciences. While attending school there, he was named to the Academic all-conference baseball team.

When not treating patients, Dr. Ruckman spends his free time cheering on his favorite sports teams. He’ll never pass up the opportunity to attend a Bulls, Blackhawk’s, or Cubs game! He also enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his friends and family.

Dr. Ruckman is passionate about quality patient care, as well as patient education. He looks forward to meeting you, and will always take the extra time to discuss questions or concerns you may have. A great result for your feet is his priority.

"I love Dr. Sklar for fixing my once awful feet! I had bunions that inhibited me from wearing gym shoes comfortably and I barely allowed them to see the light of day because I was ashamed for anyone to see them. Now, I am into gym shoes and no longer hiding my feet while in sandals. There is no other foot doctor I would trust, thanks Dr. Sklar!"

~ Troyah Reddick, Bunion

"Dr. Sklar was my third opinion for my surgery and after the consultation I knew I was where I belonged! So thankful that I found Foot First and their extremely friendly and knowledgable staff!! I highly recommend them...if you haven't figured that out!!"

~ Jane Ruser, Bunion

"Great work Dr. Sklar fixing my hammer toe and bunion. I am an avid runner but Dr. Sklar said to set my sights low for the first year. So 9 - months later I ran a 2:02:39 1/2 marathon @ 58 years old. Highest praise for great work and recovery."
